Facebook Places is the service from Facebook using which you can easily share where you are, what you’re doing and the friends you’re with. Facebook places is a service mainly accessible from a mobile device.
You can use m.facebook.com or the official Facebook App for iPhone, BlackBerry, Android, HP webOS or Windows Phone 7 to check in. But when you don’t have a mobile device with you or your mobile device is not supporting to check-in to use Facebook places then here is an easy way to tell your friends where you are, using your browser.
We can use m.facebook.com from your browser to access places but you can only see the places from m.facebook.com
The alternative to use Facebook places is the touch site of Facebook which we rarely use on a browser. So we use the touch site of Facebook to check-in places.

When I get logged in I can view the Facebook just as I see on my touch device. I can see a “check-in” link on home.
After clicking on check-in your browser asks for granting permissions to Facebook for tracking your location.
After you click “Allow” you will be showed a list of places. These are the locations generated by Facebook by tracing your location through the browser.
When your location is not in the list or you want to add a new location to the places the type the place on the search box and you can see Add below the search box using which you can add your place.
You will be asked to name the location and the description of the location. Click on the add button and your location is added to the places list.
You can write your status and click on the check-in to say your friends where you are. You can even tag your friends with whom you are on the location.
